Just a quick update to let everyone know that we're busy working to
have StoreSuite NX ready for round 1 of public beta testing. There will be 5 rounds of beta testing. Details are as follows:
- Round 1 is a closed public beta that is only available to customers who have pre-purchased the Ultimate edition. If you have, then you'll be sent details via email explaining how you can participate in the first round of beta test. StoreSuite NX code and functionality during round 1 will not be deemed stable, and as such is not suitable for production use
- Round 2 is a closed public beta that is available to all customers who have pre-purchased any version of StoreSuite NX. It's much the same as round 1 in that the code is not yet deemed to be stable
- Round 3 is the initial open public beta that's available to selected people who have signed up to try the beta. This round will be capped at 20 or so people and the goal of this round is to get the code stable enough for use in a live online store
- Round 4 opens up the beta to 20-30 more people on the beta list and the code will be deemed suitable for production use
- Round 5 will include everyone from rounds 1-4 and will focus on fixing any overlooked problems and bugs with the code

What about bloggers who were supposed to get a demo copy to try out?
[From Mitch: There will be an open beta that all registered beta testers can use, however they wont each get a downloadable copy. This will of course take place after all 5 rounds of private testing otherwise it would be a nightmare to manage bug reports from the 4,000+ people on the beta list]

What is the point in leaving the register for your beta invite form on the page still if the applicant won't be able to beta test anyway as they realistically won't be in the top 20 people?!
Also, I'm looking to pre order but can't purchase till mid jan, will it still be the lower price then? Damn, lack of funds! Thanks
[From Mitch: Hi Gregg. Please see my reply to the comment above. The prices will go up after beta testing is done and we have a stable relase. I can't say exactly when that will be]

Will store suite be able to integrate with affiliate systems like IDev?
If not directly, can it do the following.
In order to integrate iDevAffiliate with shopping carts not listed in the automatic integration setup, you’ll probably need to contact the cart developer and ask them if they have a sale confirmation / online invoice page of some sort. This is the page the customer sees after making a purchase. This page needs to have the sale amount and order number present on it (in the form of variables). If you're using your own custom cart or system, the same applies in terms of having a confirmation page with the sale amount and order number visible on it.
[From Mitch: Hi Jason. You can integrate any/all affiliate apps into StoreSuite by pasting the tracking and conversion codes into 2 boxes in the control panel]

In one of the comments Mitch states that the second release will be about 8weeks after release 1, just curious but is this still accurate as I would like to know how easy it is going to be to update.
[From Mitch. Hi Luke. It's accurate yes, give or take a few weeks depending on the features we add. Upgrading is a matter of copying over the new files. StoreSuite is smart enough to figure out you're upgrading and the upgrade process will start automatically.]

This is interesting news. I know you guys are working hard, when should we expect to hear about Round 1 of the Beta?
Does everyone who has pre-bought NX Ultimate automatically get invited?
TIA

Any idea of an ETA for Round 2?
We have a customer that we would like to use NX Professional for but would like to test it fully ourselves first.

Hi everyone. Round 1 beta testers will receive an email within the next few days containing download details, etc.
The beta 1 was delayed a few days because we decided to hold back and implement a new store template. When you see the template you'll understand why we decided to hold back :)

Hi,
Where do I post comments about how the beta is working? I presume you want to know what bugs I may/may not have found! :)
Great software though!! :D
[From Mitch: Hi Ben. See the _README.txt file in the zip file. It explains everything]
